Report: Germany urges Canada to solve Nord Stream turbine issue

MOSCOW, Jul 7 (PRIME) -- Germany's Economy Minister Robert Habeck has urged Canada to send a turbine, whose absence halved the gas flow through the Nord Stream gas pipeline, to Germany, if there are legal obstacles to its delivery to Russia, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.

Habeck asked the Canadian government to decide on it before the start of maintenance on the pipeline.

Currently, Russian gas giant Gazprom is pumping less than half of the pipeline’s maximum capacity to Germany because of Siemens’ inability to return Portovaya compressor station’s turbines from Canada after repairs because of the anti-Russian sanctions.
